Alessandra Ambrosio

Alessandra grew up with his father Luis (runs two gas stations), mother Lucilda and her younger sister Aline. She is of Italian, Portuguese, and Polish descent.

As a child she felt insecure about her ears, feeling they stuck out too much so at 11 she had cosmetic surgery to have her ears pinned back. Later she suffered complications and several mini-surgeries needed to repair the problems. This negative experience has put her off of any other plastic surgeries.

When Alessandra was 12, she started taking modeling classes and at the age of 14, she was one of 20 finalists for the 1995 Elite Model Look national competition for Brazil.

The fashion industry icon is best known for being a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 2000 to 2017 and her work for fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Armani, Ralph Lauren. 

Alessandra was ranked one of the highest-paid models, estimated to have earned $6.6 million every year and often cited as one of the sexiest women. 

Apart from modeling, she has also ventured into fashion design and also appeared in music videos, movies and TV shows. She made her acting debut in the Brazilian telenovela Verdades Secretas.

Alessandra serves as an ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society since her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Alessandra loves hiking, surfing, beach volleyball and seeing bands. She hated cardio, so started dance cardio with Tracy Anderson. Among others, she practices the Brazilian martial art capoeira to keep in shape. Her favorite foods include chocolate and bacon but likes so much french fries and cupcakes as well.

Ambrosio became engaged to American businessman Jamie Mazur in 2008. They had a daughter Anja Louise (2008), and a son Noah Phoenix (2012) but the couple split in 2018.
