The Valencia, Spain–born model is the daughter of a farmer and a housewife. However, her parents later run a restaurant. She is the oldest of five siblings. Amalia, her two years younger sister, has also received offers to work as a model.
Celia's career began when she posed for a hair salon as a teenager. She had to sacrifice her very long hair for a new romantic style masculine cut, but this decision ended up taking her from Valencia to Barcelona, and then to Tokyo, as a model. In 1987 she was chosen as the best mannequin in the world.
However, being a very emphatic, kind person she claims that she hadn't had many friends for modelling years as she hadn't been very sociable.
"Marpessa Hennink has great kindness and wisdom; she is very human and we maintain a good friendship.”
She is also an avid art collector and, having trained at the prestigious Christie's and Sotheby's.
Celia speaks four languages and, apart from their houses in London and New York, they have an estate in Mallorca.
Currently, she works as a jewelry designer and launched her cosmetics firm, ALLEVEN Beauty. The brand name was inspired by the name of her daughter Allegra Venturi. Her facial mask, Stellar Mask, is one of the most internationally awarded cosmetics in recent years.
She has a white Maltese dog named Gatsby.

“All the vegetables and fruit that we eat come from our garden, from our fruit trees, and that is priceless."
"We live in a very sexist society. Lady Macbeth used to say to the spirits: “tear my sex out of me”, and that is something very contemporary. I think you have to be a person first and a man or a woman, or whatever gender you identify with, later."
