Helena Christensen

Danish model and photographer was born as the eldest of two daughters of a Danish father and a Peruvian mother. Photography has been a hobby for her since she was a young child. She was allegedly named after Helen of Troy.

She is a former Victoria's Secret model and won the Miss Universe Denmark crown in 1986 at the age of 17.

In 1987 she participated in the Look of the Year competition and few years later Helena became one of the most popular models of the 1990's.

She also played the woman who Chris Isaak longed for the video Wicked Game (1989) which was featured on MTV's "Sexiest Video of All-Time".

In 2009 she partnered with Oxfam to document the impact of climate change in Peru.

Helena has also served as creative director for Nylon magazine, designed clothing, launched a clothing line called Christensen & Sigersen with her friend and supported funding for breast cancer organizations and other charities.

Helena adores Morris Minor which is the only type of car she has ever had.

She is fluent in Danish, Spanish, English, French and German.

She lived with INXS frontman Michael Hutchence for 4 years and later was in a relationship with actor Norman Reedus. However they separated after 5 years they have a son, Mingus Lucien Reedus (born 13 October 1999). She has also dated Interpol singer Paul Banks (2008–2015).
