Natasha Poly

She was born to Larisa and Sergej. There was communism in Russia when Natasha was a child. When the Soviet Union collapsed (in 1991), her grandmother lost all her savings. She has her mother’s cheekbones who just wore a little pencil under her eyes and used to make her own clothes. She wasn’t allowed to use proper makeup until she was 14. When her mum had gone to work, she put on her blue eyeshadow, pink lipstick and went to school.

"Sometimes I would take a black pencil and draw on my eyelids. I looked like a panda."

She used to smoke.

When she became a model at age 15 magazines felt like an untouchable world.

"Models were just images, not real people. Beauty and fashion took a long time to reach us, so I learned most of my tricks from a 50s book my grandmother gave me, based on conversations between two housewives."

Her mom wanted her to go to university, but she didn’t pass her exams. 

She made her runway debut after walking for Emanuel Ungaro in 2004 and later walked in Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows as well.

She was the spokeswoman for L'Oreal Paris cosmetics and has modeled clothing for fashion designer Maria Ricci.

They are good friends with Eugenia Volodina and Russian musician DJ Smash.

She does yoga, and running outside, since it always clears her head.

She married a Dutch businessman Peter Bakker in 2011. They have a daughter (2013) Aleksandra Christina and a son (2019) Adrien Grey.
